Children Just Don't Act Right

Sometimes, parents enroll their child in a pageant or organized activity and they just don't act right. Well, that happens especially with young children. There are no controlling the children that are really young. Sometimes, they are tired, sleepy, or just want their way. The bad part about putting your child in any organized event is you never know what will happen. You never know until you try.

What I take from children not acting right is the importance of practice. I've judged many pageants and I can tell the children who are naturally happy and want to be onstage, the shy kiddos, and those who came to win. Practice makes a HUGE difference. No matter what type of child you have, you want to try to get your child to perform in as many circumstances as possible and in front as many people as possible. This will get your child warmed up and ready. Also I don't want you to be discouraged in placing your child in a pageant or organized event as there is hardly room for improvement if they never try.

My point in this post is "PRACTICE IS REQUIRED" no matter what age.

I missed Tips Tuesday

So I missed Tuesday as I was going to begin writing this blog yesterday and it passed so quickly. Here I will talk about pageant things, fashion, and stuff about me. Hopefully the people who click will enjoy!

My tips Tuesday is strictly for my pageant mammas! This is THE simple rule number one of signing up for a pageant: READ THE PAPERWORK / APPLICATION PACKET. This is the first rule. The rules tell you everything you should need to know. What if they don't? Ask the Director. The Director made the rules so she (maybe e) will be able to explain better. Ask questions after you read the paperwork. In my pageant information, I try to tell you everything up front to leave no room for questions. I do a lot of training so I understand how important it is to be able to give clear directions.

So what's in this packet? Rules. Guidelines. Attire Info. Theme Info. Categories. Prizes. Cost. Ages. Registration form. Etc. etc. etc.

If you have questions, ask! Some people are at different levels in their pageant experience so as a Director, we want you to understand every detail.

I wish you luck at the next pageant you compete at and hope it's what you expected!

Vacation

On a personal note- This weekend is a time away from work and 'it all.' It is a time for me and hubby. We decided to enjoy a last minute trip to San Diego. We love finding great deals and going on a whim. It's a great way to vacation and it makes for no excuses. We usully travel alone. As we know what we like. We aren't really splurgers and enjoy the simple things. We don't like buying our way to happiness. That's always nice. Oops, got off track. Anywho - I'll try ti take some pictures abd share. San Diego is a developed historic city as most building d appear older. Lots of people and beautiul scenery.

Babes in Lipstick

I hope you have checked out our new fabulous blog design, courtesy Victoria Peach Designs. She has completed the last few graphic designs that we've had and we absolutely love this company. I titled this blog "Babes in Lipstick" as I wanted something fun and relatable. We're all babes and we all love a little gloss (which goes extremely far). Most women, even girls, even babies are wearing lipgloss/stick at this point in society. I titled this blog to provide you with the latest on beauty pageants, children, and fashion. Keep you in the know - but I also need you to keep me in the know.
